Absentee voting is now in progress for the Nov. 8 general election.

Hours for early voting in the board of elections office are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 28 and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Oct. 31 through Nov. 4.

Weekend hours are Saturday, Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 6 from 1-5 p.m.

To vote by mail, an individual must apply for an absent ballot in writing and submit the request to the county board of elections. Use of a specific form is not required, but requests must include the following:

—Voter’s name.

—Residence address.

—Mailing address if different.

—Date of birth identification. Identification is required and can be a voter’s Ohio driver’s license or state ID card number, the last four digits of the voter’s Social Security number, or a copy of a utility bill or bank statement.

—Date of the election (Nov. 8).

—Statement the person requesting the ballot is a qualified elector.

—Voter’s signature and date.

Applications must be received no later than noon on Nov. 5.
