Actress to portray Ford at the library
On Thursday, March 20, the College Club of Tuscarawas County and Dover Library will welcome actress Lynna Metrisin when she portrays Betty Ford, who served as the country’s first lady from 1974-77. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the community room at the Dover Public Library, 525 N. Walnut St. Refreshments will be provided by the College Club of Tuscarawas County.
Betty Ford was the wife of Gerald Ford, the 38th president of the United States. After surviving breast cancer and struggling with substance abuse, she founded the Betty Ford Center for addiction treatment.
The nonprofit group Women in History is dedicated to the education of all people through the dramatic recreation of lives of notable women in history. The actresses research and study each historical figure in order to create life stories of some of America’s most remarkable ladies.
