Celeste to speak
Former Ohio Gov. Richard Celeste will be at the Dover Library on Saturday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. to talk about his autobiography, “In the Heart of It All: An Unvarnished Account of My Life in Public Service.”
The book details the former governor’s journey from humble beginnings in Northeast Ohio to Yale, Oxford, Washington DC, India, the governor’s residence and beyond. Celeste will share recollections of his personal and professional life including his defeats and victories.
Celeste served as Ohio’s 64th governor from 1983-91. After serving many years in government and public service, in 2002 he became president of Colorado College, where he served for nine years and continues to reside with his wife Jacqueline. Celeste is currently a trustee of the Gates Family Foundation and Global Communities.
“We are so fortunate,” said Sherrel Rieger, program specialist at the library, “to have Richard Celeste come to our library. It is a unique opportunity for us to share moments with our former governor.”
This program will be held in the community room at the DPL, 525 N. Walnut St., Dover. A book signing will follow the program. The book will cost $25. Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
