The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued a notice of inquiry to gather information, landowner concerns and community perspectives to explore whether, and if so how, it should revise its evaluation standards concerning natural gas pipeline permitting.

Information submitted should focus on how the need for a project is determined, exercise of eminent domain and of landowner interests relating to a project, and evaluation of the environmental impact of the proposed facility. Additional information on the notice may be found in the Federal Register at www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/04/25/2018-08658/certification-of-new-interstate-natural-gas-facilities

The Wayne County Farm Bureau has formed a special committee to gather input and prepare formal comments in this FERC proceeding. Technical support on ensuring that Wayne County’s materials are submitted to FERC as required is being provided by OFBF.

The county farm bureau is gathering member comments to be included in its submission. All interested members wanting to provide input are asked to email Lindsay Shoup at lshoup@ofbf.org on or before Friday, June 15.
