Golf ball program a big success
Letter to the Editor,
Danbury’s Reclaim Your Free Golf Ball Program has been a success, thanks to generous donations. Because of the printed word, we received over 400 golf ball boxes we were able to fill, leaving an additional 200 we hope to fill for next season. We also received some sleeves but need more.
We also helped return a lost golf club from Fire Ridge’s 13th fairway months later, after we posted a notice in The Bargain Hunter. With over 250 boxes of golf balls, your donations have helped us contribute $6,600 to local charities through Fire Ridge’s events. Special thanks to Arlie Rodhe, the first golfer to donate to our program.
Looking ahead, I will turn 84 in May 2025. The three greatest things in my life have been the Lord, my family and my involvement in reclaiming golf balls. Thanks to all the golfers and the staff and grounds crew at Fire Ridge Golf Course for your support, and I look forward to seeing you on the course next year.
