Hartzler Family Dairy celebrating 25th year
Hartzler Family Dairy is having a celebration to mark its 25th year in business.
Located at 5454 Cleveland Road in Wooster, Hartzler’s invites the community to celebrate on Saturday, June 26 at its ice-cream shop. It will be an all-day event from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will offer $1 cones, 25% off Hartzler retail products, food trucks and giveaways.
In 1996 Harold and Patricia Hartzler, along with their eight children, started bottling milk in glass bottles and opened their storefront. In the past 25 years, the business has greatly evolved. Today, two of the sons, John and Joe Hartzler, remain the owners of the dairy.
Hartzler Family Dairy continues to provide non-GMO products. Whole, 2%, skim and chocolate milks are bottled in returnable half-gallon bottles. Eggnog is what Hartzler’s is known for, not just locally, but also across the country.
Hartzler’s product line has expanded to include single-serve sized glass bottles of flavored milks, butter, cheeses and ice cream. The storefront has grown to include not just a retail space, but also a rotation of over 50 hand-dipped ice-cream flavors, classic ice-cream-stand staples, novelties, ice-cream cakes, a deli-style food menu and coffee offerings.
