Herrera to speak at library for Hispanic Heritage Month
As part of the month-long celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dover Public Library hosts local author Melissa Kay Herrera Thursday, Sept. 28. Herrera will talk about her book “Toño Lives - Porque Domina Todo,” which relates the harrowing first-person account of physical loss, survival, and brutal abuse of a young boy as he travels a trail of sorrow, heart-pounding adventure, and extreme peril. This is the story of a young man searching for one thing — a place to call home. A book signing will follow the program.
Herrera, a native of Holmes County, is an author, poet, and curator of words. She is a columnist for the Holmes County Bargain Hunter. With a passion for thick books, horror movies, and critical-thinking, her goal is to travel the interior of foreign countries while drinking strong coffees. Her heart rests inside a thread that stretches between two lands. She and her husband George have three grown children who are free-thinkers.
This program will be held in the Community Room at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut St., Dover. Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
