In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dover Public Library, Tuscarawas County YMCA and Fourth & Faith will host a series of events called Mucho Gusto, which means nice to meet you.

These events include various speakers, an author, bilingual story times and a story walk at the park. People also are encouraged to visit several of the tiendas or Latino stores in the community.

“The Mucho Gusto events are a great opportunity to meet our Latino neighbors and to learn more about their history and culture,” said Sherrel Rieger, program specialist at the library. “It is amazing how our lives have become more and more intertwined.”

At the end of the month-long celebration, a Latino-themed raffle basket will be awarded. In order to qualify for the basket, participants must pick up a passport at the library, YMCA or Fourth & Faith. Every time they go to an event or visit a store, their passport will be stamped. After participants accumulate eight stamps, they can turn in their passport at one of the three sponsors. The drawing for the raffle basket will be held Oct. 20.

The events will take place from Sept. 15 through Oct. 19 at three different locations: Dover Public Library at 525 N. Walnut St., YMCA at 600 Monroe St. and Fourth & Faith at 409 N. Wooster Ave. Information about specific programs will be available in the media.

Visit www.doverlibrary.org/events for dates and locations of the different events. Registration is suggested but not required for these events. Call the library at 330-343-6123.
