Holmes Co. Board of Elections reorganizes
On March 5 the Holmes County Board of Elections met to conduct its biennial reorganization.
Each county’s board of elections has four board members, two representing each of the two major political parties. The members of the county boards of elections are nominated by their respective political parties and appointed by the Secretary of State. Boards of elections carry out state and federal law as instructed by the Secretary of State. Board members serve for staggered terms of four years.
Welcomed to the board were newly appointed members Greg Stoner and Patricia Dutton, replacing Gary Wagers and Mike Jaeb, who served since March 2016 and September 2015, respectively. Member Mark Baserman was reappointed for another term. He has served since August 2019. Wes Schmucker also is a member, serving since October 1998.
The board selected Lisa Welch as director and Sarah Elvey as deputy director. Greg Stoner was selected as chairman of the board.
