Wayne County Lemonade Day is scheduled on Saturday, June 10, and there is still time to register kids for a learning experience.

Lemonade Day teaches the basics of entrepreneurial learning: business skills, financial literacy, teamwork, social and emotional skills, goal setting, and responsibility. Mentors guide participants through the youth entrepreneurship lessons via the My Lemonade Day app and take participants through the journey of planning, launching and operating a business.

The lessons of Lemonade Day include setting a goal, making a plan, working the plan and achieving dreams. Kids keep all the money they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some of their profit. Every child who participates and turns in their results will be eligible to be considered for the Best Lemonade Stand and Entrepreneur of the Year. There is even a chance to win a new bike.

Parents, mentors, teachers and youth leaders are encouraged to register their youth online at www.woosterchamber.com/lemonade-day. Once a child is registered to participate, they can begin to think about choosing a location, which can be at their home or in front of any Wayne County business. After completing the Lemonade Day lessons, children will have the opportunity to set up in locations across Wayne County and run the business they created — a lemonade stand.

The goal is to register area kids who in turn will start new businesses all across Wayne County on a single day. Young entrepreneurs with lemonade stands need mentors, investors, business partners, great locations and customers to make Lemonade Day a success. Everyone can support Lemonade Day kids by finding a stand using the interactive map and purchasing a glass of lemonade on Lemonade Day.

The Wooster Chamber of Commerce would like to thank its Main Squeeze investor Kitty Poo Club for supporting Wayne County Lemonade Day.

Since 2007 more than 1 million kids have participated in Lemonade Day in 31 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Canada and Bermuda. For more information visit www.lemonadeday.org.
