Hiland freshman Jack Mast has continued to give the Hawks a stable score from the five-man spot, which has helped the Hawks carve out early success this fall.

                        

Lady Pirates keep rolling

Garaway fought off Tuscarawas Valley and Indian Valley in a tri-match on Aug. 25, posting a 156 to TV’s 185 and IV’s 214.

Sydni Prysi and Sammi Miller led Garaway with 36 and 37, respectively, while Brooklyn Numbers shot a 41, Hannah Steiner carded a 42, Olivia Immel shot a 44 and Camryn Ianniello added a 45.

Emily Jones and Abby Jones paced Indian Valley with respective scores of 49 and 53 while Tusky Valley was led by a trio of 46s from Alaina Rini John, Kathryn Secoy and Addy Carroll and a pair of 47s from Leah Wright and Autumn Rohr.

On Aug. 29 the Lady Pirates kept right on firing low numbers, defeating Ridgewood 156-223. Numbers went low, posting a 2-under-par score of 34 at Black Gold Golf Course in Sugarcreek. Miller carded a 40, and Steiner and Prysi chipped in with matching 41s.

Garaway clubs Malvern at Black Gold

Garaway got some good home cooking in devouring Malvern 157-196 on Aug. 30. It was a balanced Pirates attack, led by Trace Gibson’s 38 and Keshawn Miller’s 39. Carter Miller and Kaleb Miller each added 40s, and Nick Maust pitched in with a 43.

Hawks defeat Malvern, Indian Valley

Hiland shot a 168, topping host Malvern at Great Trails Golf Course on Aug. 25. Leading the way for Hiland was Jack Mast with a 41 while Nathan Kline and Lucas Yoder each added 42s and Camden Bille carded a 43. Ethan Bush led the Hornets with a 44.

Hiland hosted Indian Valley on Aug. 30 at Fire Ridge Golf Course, where the Hawks earned a 163-182 win. Leading the way for Hiland was Nathan Kline, who logged an even-par 36. Lucas Yoder and Camden Bille both added 41s while Jack Mast shot a 45 and Monty Coblentz added a 46. Arthur Gunn and Deagan Beaber led the Braves with matching 41s.

Quakers slip past Knights by 5

West Holmes fired a 171, but that wasn’t quite good enough to get past New Philadelphia’s 166.

Grady Toye was spectacular for the Knights, posting a 1-under 35, finishing with three straight birdies. Trey Baker scored a 41, Marcus Miller added a 47 and Kenzie Woods carded a 48 to round out West Holmes’ scoring.

Ashland also dealt the Knights a loss, winning 157-169. The Knights got a 38 from Toye and a 40 from Baker in defeat. Woods added a 44, and both Maverick Rickly and Miller shot 47.
