Power to the Parent’s Hidden in Plain Sight room provides parents with clues from a teen’s bedroom to help them determine whether their child might be experimenting with or using drugs or alcohol. Room décor, hidden compartments and items to conceal are located throughout the room.

                        

Mercy Health Center of Tuscarawas County has partnered with the Anti-Drug Coalition of Tuscarawas County and will hold a free community education program, “Hidden in Plain Sight,” on Monday, May 13 at 6 p.m. The program will be presented at Mercy Health Center, 1031 W. High Ave., New Philadelphia.

This event will teach attendees the signs of drug use and how to effectively talk to teens about drugs. The evening will include an interactive teen bedroom demonstration provided by the Anti-Drug Coalition; special guest appearance by officer Mike Pierce and his K-9 partner, Pete, of the New Philadelphia Police Department; refreshments; and tours of Mercy Therapy Services.

The event is open to anyone in the community. Reservations are requested as seating is limited. To RSVP, call Mercy Therapy Services at 330-365-5101.
