The New Philadelphia City Health Department will host an educational program, Narcan: Be a Hero. Be Prepared, for the community on Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Main Library at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia.

“We are happy to partner with the city health department for this important program for community members on the opiate epidemic,” Library Director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell said.

New Philadelphia City Health Department Director of Nursing Nichole Bache, BSN, RN, will present information and data on where the county is at in the opiate epidemic.

Participants in the program will be trained on basic overdose first-aid and naloxone (Narcan) administration.

According to Ramsell, participants will be offered a free Project Dawn Kit at the end of the evening.

Registration is required for this event. Call 330-364-4474.
