The Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition will host a document-shredding and destruction event on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of First Federal Community Bank on the boulevard in Dover.

Items accepted for shredding include legal documents, old tax records, medical records and financial statements with a maximum of four boxes of documents per vehicle.

E-waste also will be accepted including laptops, keyboards, computer mouses, desktop printers, routers, modems, fax machines, personal computers (not including monitors) and hard drives.

Televisions and monitors cannot be taken this year.

There is no cost to recycle items; however, freewill donations to benefit the Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition will be accepted. Volunteers will direct participants as they enter the lower parking lot and unload boxes or bags of materials into the hoppers manned by shredding professionals.

Call Jim Gill at the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123. To learn more about the Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition, visit www.tuscliteracy.org.
