Loudonville Public Library programs on tap for July
The Loudonville Public Library has programs scheduled for July. Call the library at 419-994-5531 for more information about any of these programs.
The library will be closed Thursday, July 4.
Summer reading program
The program will run until July 13. Babies to seniors can enjoy a summer filled with reading, programs, fun and prizes.
Summer food service
Kids age 0-18 can have a free, nutritious lunch served at the library while supplies last Mondays through Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. through Aug. 9. The lunches are provided by the Ohio Department of Education and The Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
Fire truck spray
Get ready for a day with the Loudonville Fire Department on Monday, July 1 at 6 p.m. Get sprayed with water like a giant sprinkler while having Popsicles. Don’t forget to pack a towel and a change of clothes to dry off.
Story time
Story time, a program for age 2-5 that includes stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts, will be Tuesdays, July 2 and 9 at 11 a.m. Caregivers must be present, and younger siblings can attend.
Chocolates around the world
Celebrate World Chocolate Day (July 7) with a tasting of chocolates from around the globe on Friday, July 5 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for first grade through fifth grade and 1:30-2:30 p.m. for sixth grade through 12th grade. Learn about each chocolate’s origin and vote on your favorite. Sign-up is required. Space is limited.
Friends of the Library book sale
The Friends of the Library will have a book sale on the lower level of the library on Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carts and tables full of books will be available for purchase. Help the Friends of the Library support library programs and materials.
Stuffed animal workshop
This program for children to choose and stuff their own stuffed animals will take place Monday, July 8 from 6-7 p.m. Each child can create a new companion. Sign-up is required. Space is limited.
Pinterest power
Attendees will make an Ohio wood sign on Tuesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. or Wednesday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. The classes are limited to 12 spots. A sample will be displayed in the library and posted on its Facebook page.
Amazing Race
Compete in a challenge to see who can “travel the world” the fastest on Thursday, July 11 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for first grade through fifth grade and 1:30-2:30 p.m. for sixth grade through 12th grade. Attendees will answer trivia questions, make small snacks/crafts and overcome challenges that will test their limits. Sign-up is required. Space is limited.
Book discussion group
The discussion about “The Invention of Wings” by Sue Monk Kidd will take place in the Golden Center on Friday, July 19 at 11 a.m. Come for snacks and a discussion with other readers.
