October to feature pumpkin hayride trains from ORHS
The Orrville Railroad Heritage Society will bring pumpkin hayride trains back this year on Saturdays, Oct. 7, 14 and 21.
Rides will be offered in both the open-air car (CAR 501) and the enclosed passenger coach (CAR 208) and will depart the boarding area at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. All on-rail events will be held at the ORHS Rail Yard, 2174 S. Crown Hill Road, Orrville, between Scotts Miracle-Gro and Catrone Trucking.
Discount pricing for pumpkin hayride trains in the open-air car is $10 per seat, plus ticketing fees, and the enclosed passenger coach is $15 per seat, plus ticketing fees. Tickets can be purchased through eTix on the ORHS website at www.orrvillerailroad.com/events. Passengers should have tickets with them and be in the boarding area 15 minutes prior to departure.
New this year will be the first Halloween special on Oct. 28. Kids in costume will receive a Halloween treat bag, and there will be a random drawing on each ride that day for a $25 gift certificate, redeemable at the ORHS gift shop. Halloween special tickets are $15 per seat for CAR 501 and $20 per seat for CAR 208.
