Steve Toohey, founder of Operation Flags of Freedom, will be the guest speaker for the Dover Public Library’s Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 12:15 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. Register for this program at the senior center.

Toohey created Operation Flags of Freedom in 2011 after the death of United States Marine Sgt. Danny Patron in Afghanistan while detonating a roadside bomb. On the day of his funeral, Operation Flags of Freedom lined the route from the church to the cemetery with 500 American flags to honor Patron. Since that time Toohey has dedicated himself to providing thousands of American flags at more than 100 annual events in support of veteran and first responder events. He has provided flags for organizations such as Folds of Honor, Wreaths across America and Tunnels to Towers.

This program is part of the Lunch and Learn series sponsored by the Dover Public Library on the first Wednesday of every month. All programs of this series will be held at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, 425 Prospect St., Dover.

Call Linda Toohey at the senior center or call the library at 330-343-6123.
