Orrville chamber taking nominations for 5 awards
The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the five award categories that will recognize individual people and businesses who have made a difference in the community from July 2023 to the present.
Nomination forms can be found at www.orrvillechamber.com, picked up and dropped off at the chamber office at 132 S. Main St. in Orrville, or emailed to Chamberoffice@orrvillechamber.com. Nominations are due by Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m., and nominees will be notified and invited to be recognized at the chamber’s awards celebration on Tuesday, May 21 at White Oak Event Center.
When nominating, consider the qualifications listed below:
Citizen of the Year
This award recognizes an individual for his/her outstanding service to the Orrville community over the past year or for a long history of service during the nominee’s lifetime. To nominate someone, send a letter or collection of letters highlighting examples of how the nominee has served the Orrville community. Only the information submitted can be considered, so include all information pertinent to establishing the strongest case possible for why the nominee should be honored. This award is given by the chamber and City of Orrville.
Small Business of the Year
This award recognizes an Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce member business or organization with 20 or less employees that has made an outstanding contribution to the community in the past year (2023). The intent of this award is to recognize those businesses that are making the community a great place to work and live. This award is given by the chamber.
Business Impact
An annual award to recognize an Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce member business or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the community in the past year (2023). The intent of this award is to recognize those businesses that are making the community a great place to work and live. This award is given by the chamber.
Worthy Works
Any 501(c)(3) organization and nonprofit religious organizations, educational institutions, and local governments that are members of the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce are eligible for nomination of the Worthy Works Award. Nominations may be made by any member of the community including staff, volunteers, friends and recipients of the organization’s services. One award will be presented per year, and the previous year’s awardee is not eligible for nomination again.
The review board will consider nominations that demonstrate the nonprofit organization’s long-lasting commitment to the quality of life in the Orrville community. The review board will consider nominations that show evidence how the nonprofit organization was active in contributing to the betterment of the community of Orrville, with special consideration given to those organizations with projects or services that took place in 2023.
The Dr. Andrew Naumoff Healthy Habits Champion
This award is sponsored by the Aultman Orrville Hospital Growing Healthy Habits Coalition to recognize the contributions of a community member toward healthy living, healthy choices, and living with good habits personally and publicly.
Nominated businesses must be a member of the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce, and self-nominations are welcome.
If nominating in more than one category, use separate forms for each. All deadlines are firm, and nominations will not be accepted after the deadline including mail-in nominations.
