People can join the Orrville Salvation Army red kettle campaign from the comfort of their home with “Adopt-a-Spot.”

Donating $35 or more to the Salvation Army’s virtual red kettle sponsors one hour or more of bell ringing at any of the area locations including Orrville Buehler’s, P. Graham Dunn, Kidron Town & Country, Lehman’s Hardware, Dutch Kitchen Restaurant and Marshallville Packing. Orrville Salvation Army is hosting the Red Kettle “Give Where You Live” Campaign as an alternative to the safety concerns many may have during the current COVID-19 environment.

Visit the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TSAOrrvilleSU/ or website at neo.salvationarmy.org/northeastohio/Orrville and donate to the virtual red kettle. Select the location: Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center. Donations mailed to the office at 401 W. High St. in Orrville also can be applied to the campaign. Designate “Red Kettle.”

Donations stay local in the greater Orrville area and aid those in need of food, utility-disconnection assistance, medical transportation, clothing and various other financial needs. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church with a message based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God, and its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in his name without discrimination.

To adopt a spot for a full day of ringing or with any questions, call Orrville Salvation Army at 330-683-3138.
