Phila City Hall extends closure
Mayor Joel B. Day announced the closing of New Philadelphia’s John Knisely Municipal Centre (City Hall) will be extended for another month.
“This coincides with Gov. Dewine’s decision to keep Ohio’s schools closed through Friday, May 1 because of the COVID-19 emergency,” Day said. “City Hall will be closed to the public until Monday, May 4.”
During the extended closing period, residents and businesses can use City Hall’s night deposit slot to make water-bill payments and file city income-tax returns. The deposit slot is located on the west side of the building beside the entrance door. Water shutoffs have been suspended until further notice. The deadline for filing city income-tax returns without penalty has been moved back to July 15.
During the period, all City Hall offices can be called at 330-364-4491. Direct lines and applications for city permits can be found on the city’s website at www.newphilaoh.com. Information on how to pay water bills and income tax online also is available on the city’s website.
