In recognition of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Dover Public Library will host author Patricia S. Sherman to present a program titled What Can You Do About You? A Review of Life After Child Abuse on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m.

During the program Sherman will introduce her book, “The Blue Swing: Child Abuse, Choices and Living without Anger,” in which she talks about the insecurities and the doubts she and her sister suffered because of child abuse.

In this debut book, Sherman recounts the damage that occurs when abusive behavior takes place behind closed doors. Sherman includes original poetry that expresses the emotions and betrayal felt by her and her sister. Although this book reflects a dark subject, it is filled with messages of light and hope. A book-signing will follow.

This program will be held in the community room at the DPL, 525 N. Walnut St., Dover. Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
