The Dalton Branch Library, located at 127 S. Church St., is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

                        

The Dalton branch of the Wayne County Public Library will offer the following programs and activities in the coming weeks:

Family Story Times will take place Mondays, Sept. 11 through Nov. 13 at 10:15 a.m. or Wednesdays, Sept. 13 through Nov. 15 at 10:15 or 11 a.m. Registration for age 2 and up is required.

Children (0-12)

Take It Make It takes place all day on Mondays while supplies last. Come in to get a craft to take home and make. The next session will be Sept. 18 with hedgehog magnets.

Elephant Silhouettes will take place Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. In this Crayola Imagine Arts Academy, kids learn about elephants and the conservationists who are working to protect them while using a silhouette painting technique to create elephant and tree shadows on a canvas sunset background. Registration is required for age 5-12 required.

Families (children age 0-17 and caregivers)

Play-Doh Palooza will take place Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 1-5 p.m. Celebrate National Play-Doh Day and make butterflies, bugs and insects out of Play-Doh.

Tweens and Teens
(age 8-18)

Mystery at the Fair will take place throughout the month of September. Stop by the Dalton Library to solve a Wayne County Fair-themed puzzle box. Solve the clues to break into the box and figure out how the grand champion steer disappeared. Those who succeed will be entered into a prize drawing.
