Quaker Foundation to honor local individuals
One retired New Philadelphia Schools’ educator and two volunteers will be recognized at the New Philadelphia City Schools Quaker Foundation's 25th annual Homecoming Gathering on Friday, Sept. 21 from 7-11 p.m. at the New Philadelphia Elks, 1180 Union Ave. NW.
The event is open to all alumni, and friends and tickets are available at the door for a $5 donation, which includes a light buffet and refreshments.
Honorees for the evening will include Lee Ellen Kreinbihl, who taught math at New Philadelphia High School for 26 years, beginning in 1969; Dennis “Denny” Trimmer, Jr., a 1989 New Philadelphia High School graduate and this year’s Spirit Award Honoree; and Deborah S. (Clay) Barr, a 1968 New Philadelphia High School graduate who has been selected to receive the Quaker Foundation Merit Award.
The Class of 1953, celebrating its 65th reunion, will be the honorary co-host of the event.
The annual Quaker Foundation Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Tuscora Park Pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 7-11 a.m. Tickets are available at the door for a donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Both events are open to the public, and proceeds will benefit the Quaker Foundation.
The Quaker Foundation office, 124 N. Broadway, will be open to the public on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours of New Philadelphia High School can be arranged for Saturday by calling the high school office.
