Tuscarawas County Treasurer Jeffery S. Mamarella said all first-half tax bills for real estate and manufactured homes have been mailed and are due by Friday, July 19.

Bills can be paid in person or mailed to the Tuscarawas County Treasurer’s Office at 125 E. High Ave. in New Philadelphia. There is a drive-thru window open for payment convenience. There also is a drop box located on First Drive Northeast by the County Annex Building, where payment can be made 24 hours each day. Payments can be made online at www.co.tuscarawas.oh.us. Fees apply to online payments.

If you have not received your tax statement, contact the Tuscarawas County Treasurer’s Office immediately. Failure to receive a tax statement does not eliminate responsibility to pay real-estate taxes and penalties or interest accrued, in accordance with Section 323.13 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Extended payment dates for military personnel — House Bill 390, effective March 4, 2002 — allows an extension of time for payment of real-estate and manufactured-home taxes for members of the National Guard and Reserve components of the armed forces of the United States who have been called to active or other duty under Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle, or the governor’s directive of Sept. 29, 2001 or a successor to that directive.

Application must be completed and an installment contract entered into no later than the last day of the sixth month following termination of active duty. Qualified applicants will enter into a contract to pay the deferred taxes in installments beginning in the seventh month following the end of the member’s duty.

The treasurer’s office can be called at 330-365-3254. They also have a website at www.co.tuscarawas.oh.us. The website contains information on real-estate taxes and answers to frequently asked questions.

Office and drive-thru hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
