Smith Orr fundraiser plant sale scheduled for Sept. 16
The Orrville Historical Society is seeking vendors and musical performers for its Sept. 16 plant sale fundraiser. The sale will be held on the grounds of the historic Smith Orr Homestead in Orrville, with proceeds to help pay for foundation repairs at the homestead.
The Orrville Historical Society is seeking vendors and musical performers for its Sept. 16 plant sale fundraiser. The sale will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the historic Smith Orr Homestead, 365 W. Market St., Orrville.
The Smith Orr Homestead is in need of repairs to its foundation. The OHS has received a grant to cover a large portion of the work but is seeking to raise nearly $7,000 to ensure the completion of repairs.
The sale will include a variety of plant vendors, local artisans, food trucks and more. Local artist Kristin Lorson will lead a mini art class and will do a free art project, Erika Stafford will teach a plant class, and the Historical Society will lead tours in the homestead from 1-4 p.m.
There also will be basket raffles, silent auctions, a donor discount promotion and live music throughout the day.
