Strasburg is seeking a new police chief after Mayor Bruce Metzger announced the resignation of Police Chief David Warrick, effective March 30, during the March 18 Strasburg Council meeting. Warrick was hired in 2018 as a police officer and has been police chief for the past six years. He is going to pursue a different profession.

Dr. Steve Snyder has purchased the former dentist office on South Wooster Avenue. He will close on the property in 60 days. He plans to demolish the former building and construct a new building to house his practice.

A town meeting will be held April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon in Village Hall, 224 N. Bodmer Ave., to answer questions and view the preliminary drawing of the proposed 11,920-square-foot building to house a community center, library, food pantry and police station. The center would be located on 1.2 acres on North Bodmer Avenue next to Village Hall.

—Heard a question from a resident about if the softball field in Franklin Park would need to be relocated when the addition to the wastewater treatment plant begins construction. Metzger said the field would not need to be relocated. Only some parking spaces would be eliminated.
