Mary Alice Streeter has been appointed as an emeritus trustee of the Wayne County Community Foundation, a nonprofit community organization dedicated to strengthening the community by connecting donors with causes.

Streeter began serving as a WCCF trustee in 1991, representing the Wooster area. She has since held a variety of roles in the organization including vice president of the board before a 19-year stint as treasurer. This most recent honor is given to trustees of the board who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to the foundation.

“While we are sorry to see Mary Alice step down as a trustee, we are pleased that in her new role as an emeritus trustee she will continue to be involved with the foundation in a way that we will continue to benefit from her 33 years of vast experiences and perspective,” WCCF Board President Brent Steiner said. “In her capacity as an accountant, she was an invaluable resource as treasurer of the board and to the staff at the foundation. Her tenure has not only been long, but also extremely productive and transformational to the foundation, as it has steadily grown from a few thousand dollars in assets to the over $130 million in assets entrusted with us today.”

Streeter is a certified public accountant and a certified medical practice executive. She has served on the boards and governing committees of over 20 local organizations including hospice, Main Street Wooster, Salvation Army, STEPS, Viola Startzman Clinic and Wooster Community Hospital Board of Governors. She received the Leadership Wooster Alumni of the Year in 2011 and the 2021 Community Wall of Fame Award through the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce.

Since its inception in 1978, WCCF has returned more than $115 million in grants and scholarships to the community. For more information about the foundation, call 330-262-3877 or visit www.WCCFOH.org.
