The New Philadelphia VFW Post 1445, in partnership with the New Philadelphia Veterans Coordinating Committee, will host a Memorial Day food drive on Monday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Tuscarawas County Court House in New Philadelphia.

Cash contributions made to the food drive will be matched by VFW Post 1445 up to $1,500. While supplies last, food-drive volunteers will pass out American flags and poppies to those donating to the food drive.

The VFW Canteen will donate $2 to the VFW Veterans Assistance Program for each poppy handed out. The VAP assists local veterans in need. They do not need to be VFW members.

In consideration of the COVID-19 pandemic, this food-drive activity has been approved by the Tuscarawas County Commissioners and the New Philadelphia City Health Department.
