Annual OABGC auction nets record amount
The Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club’s 2023 Annual Kids! Benefit Auction was held at the White Oak Event Center on Saturday, March 25 with more than 300 in attendance.
Attendees had the opportunity to bid on over 50 silent and 40 live auction items donated by generous businesses and individuals. An anonymous donor matched scholarships dollar for dollar making this year’s scholarships the highest received since the auction started featuring scholarships for members. Scholarships are available for Meals, Leagues, Education and “All Access” providing anything they may need for KidStop, unlimited tutoring, homework help, field trips, supplies, and meals. The generous support of the community helped raise $209,525.62 making it the highest auction to date.
The evening began with a video presentation featuring and made by members and staff from both the Orrville & Rittman Clubs. Guest Speaker Boys & Girls Club of America President and CEO, Jim Clark donated $10,000 towards the Scholarships portion of the auction as well as providing an additional scholarship for $3,200/year up to four years to a graduating senior for college income.
The 2024 Auction is planned for Saturday, April 13 at Greystone Event Center in Wooster.
The Mission of the Orrville Area Boys & Girls Club is “to support, enable, and develop youth and teens to reach their full potential.” In addition to providing a caring environment, the OABGC offers daily access to a broad range of programs that promote the education, health, social character, service and leadership to all youth and teens currently enrolled in the Dalton City Schools, Green Local Schools, Orrville City School Districts, Rittman Local Schools. The OABGC is a partner agency of the Orrville Area United Way.
