The Friends of the Holmes County Public Library’s annual book sale will be held Oct. 25-26 at the Central Library, located at 3102 Glen Dr. in Millersburg.

                        

The Friends of the Holmes County Public Library’s annual book sale will be held Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Central Library, located at 3102 Glen Dr. in Millersburg. The sale will run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

For just $3, shoppers can fill a plastic bag with all the items they can hold. Anyone visiting the book sale will be eligible to enter a gift basket drawing sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The gift basket contains stationary, a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble and an assortment of new adult and children’s books.

In addition to books and other library materials for adults, teens and children, this year’s sale will feature an assortment of literacy-themed dolls, which will be offered through a silent bidding process. Available doll sets include six characters from “Little House on the Prairie,” five characters from “The Wizard of Oz,” and four characters from “Little Women.” Individual dolls include Little Red Riding Hood, Little Miss Muffet, Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Little Bo Peep, Goldilocks, Rapunzel and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

Members of the Friends of the Library will have the first opportunity to shop for books on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5-7 p.m. Friends memberships can be purchased during the sale for $15.

The Friends of the Holmes County Public Library is a nonprofit group of volunteers who fundraise to support programming and purchase of materials at the Holmes County Library. Other projects that have been funded in whole or in part by the Friends have included a book return, bookmobiles, and a custom bookcase to feature new materials. New members are always welcome.
