Halloween Campout is Oct. 13-14 at Pleasant Hill
A Halloween-themed camping event will take place Oct. 13-14 at Pleasant Hill Lake Park in Perrysville.
The weekend will feature kids trick-or-treating, a costume ball with judging, a magic show, balloon twisting, zombie archery, spooky hayrides, a campsite decorating contest, disc jockey music, campfires, s’mores making, Halloween-themed crafts, food trailers and more.

Friday, Oct. 13
—Visit the Nature Room from 6-9 p.m. to talk with the naturalist staff about the activities sign-up they have planned for the weekend. Purchase your spooky forest wagon ride reserve tickets (Camp Store) and pontoon boat hayrides (tickets online).
—Pick up a free s’mores kit from 6-9 p.m. at the welcome center while supplies last. A campfire for roasting will be available at the campfire ring in the welcome center area.
—Roast marshmallows, make s’mores, and listen to stories and music during the naturalist campfire program from 7:30-9 p.m. at the welcome center’s outdoor fire ring.
Saturday, Oct. 14
—Try your archery skills and shoot the zombies invading the park during the zombie archery shoot from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Meet at shelter house two. Age 6 and older can sign up at the welcome center for their time slot.
—Hot food and drinks will be available at Tays Mexican Food trailer from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the marina parking lot.
—A variety of Halloween-themed designs with easy-to-follow directions will be available to choose from during the Halloween family crafts event from 1-2 p.m. All crafts are first come, first served. All ages are welcome.
—Children age 14 and under can stop by campsites offering Halloween treats during the trick-or-treat event from 2-3:30 p.m.
—Judges will visit decorated campsites from 3-4 p.m. No sign-up is needed.
—Nate the Great will perform a magic show and balloon-twisting art from 5-6 p.m.
—Music and contests will take place during the Monster Costume Ball from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the welcome center. A live disc jockey will perform. Attendees should come dressed in their costumes from 6:30-7 p.m. for judging. Prizes will be given out for the best and funniest costumes. Campsite decorating winners will be announced during the ball. All ages are welcome.
—Hay wagon rides through the spooky forest will take place from 7-10 p.m. To ride the wagon, a $5 reserved seating ticket must be purchased at the Registration/Camp Store. Riders will meet at the welcome center parking lot at their scheduled time to get on the wagon.
