The Holmes County District Public Library has events and programs scheduled for April.

                        

The Holmes County District Public Library has the following events and programs scheduled for April. Call the library at 330-674-5972 for more information or to register for any of these events:

Writing contest — Share your original poetry, comics, or short stories, with or without illustrations, by entering the Holmes County District Public Library’s Writing Contest. Prizes will be awarded to the top entry in each category and submissions are due by April 22. Visit the library’s website, stop at the library or call for details.

April Craft Kit for Teens — Available at the Central Library or East Branch. Pick up a craft kit to create Geode Easter Eggs.

Storytime — At the East Branch, Wednesdays April 5, 12, 19, 26 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2-5, with an adult, are invited to join for stories, rhymes, and songs.

Storytime — At the Central Library, Fridays April 7, 14, 21, 28 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2-5, with an adult, are invited to join for stories, rhymes, and songs.

Little Learners Playgroup — At the Central Library, Fridays April 7, 14, 21, 28 from 11 a.m.-noon. Kids up to age 5, with an adult, will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills. Snacks are provided.

Paws to Read — Ar the Central Library, Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m.-noon. Kids are invited to read to a licensed therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

STEAMKids Club — At the Central Library, Tuesday, April 11 at 6 p.m. Ages 8-14 will explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math by creating parachutes for Easter peeps. Registration is required.

Eating on the go with Kate — At the Central Library, Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Services Educator, will share ideas for fast, easy, and healthy meals and snacks. Registration is required.

LEGO Building Night — At the Central Library, Monday, April 24 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Ages 6-12 are invited for some LEGO building fun.

Book Discussion for Adults — At the Central Library, Tuesday, April 25 at 1 p.m., discussing The Christie Affair” by Nina de Gramont, and at 6 p.m. at Jitters Coffee House in Millersburg discussing “The Family Across the Street” by Nicole Trope. Books are available to borrow at the Central Library.
