Indulge your sweet tooth at the 11th annual Chocolate Love A’fair

Chefs from area restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and candy shops will showcase their best chocolate desserts, candies, and creations at the Chocolate Love A’fair, sponsored by the Union Hospital Auxiliary. The 11th annual event will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, from 1-4 p.m., at J.I.M.s Place on West High Ave. in New Philadelphia. For their $7 ticket, chocolate lovers will be able to make the rounds of the chocolate vendors and take a sample from each. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Dante’s Pizza and Pasta House in New Philadelphia and Buehler’s Parkside in Dover, the Pro’s Table in New Philadelphia, and the Corner Shop gift shop at Union Hospital. In addition to sampling the wide assortment of chocolate creations, a live auction will offer a variety of chocolate desserts, gift certificates, gift baskets, cakes, and candies. Lynn Ballantyne, of Dover, serves as the auxiliary’s co-chairperson of the event and said it has continued to grow in popularity and excitement in each of its first 10 years. To recognize the public’s favorite chocolate creations, those attending the Chocolate Love A’fair will be asked to choose the winner of the Chocolate Lovers’ Choice award. Selections will be made by celebrity judges for the Judges’ Chocolate Choice award. The Chocolate Love A’fair event is a fundraising project of the Union Hospital Auxiliary. Proceeds from the event are used by the auxiliary to purchase medical equipment for the hospital.
