An “Ask a Lawyer” live Facebook event will take place Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 5 p.m. Audience members can ask civil legal questions related to housing, debt, family, law, public benefits and more. Join online at www.facebook.com/CommLegalAid.
Online legal clinics
—On Tuesdays at 4 p.m., learn about renter’s rights and options if facing an eviction. Visit www.communitylegalaid.org/eviction for online resources and clinic details.
—The first and third Thursday of the month at 5 p.m., learn about the foreclosure process and options for homeowners going through foreclosure. Visit www.communitylegalaid.org/foreclosure for resources and clinic details.
—On Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., learn about parental rights and parenting time orders. Details at www.communitylegalaid.org/parenthood.
—Legal clinic focused on record sealing and debt-related issues on Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 5-7 p.m. Advance registration required.
Veterans screening clinics
Veterans can speak with an advocate to be screened for free legal help. The Akron and Youngstown clinics are now hosted in-person. The Canton clinic remains phone appointments only. Preregistration is required for all clinics. Open to veterans in Columbiana, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne counties.
