WCPL programs at main branch in Wooster
The Wayne County Public Library will hold the following programs in the upcoming weeks at its main branch in downtown Wooster:
Story times
From Sept. 18 through Oct. 26, registration will be underway for story times in the story time room.
—Baby Story Time (0-18 months) will be Thursdays from 10-10:30 a.m.
—Toddler Story Time (18-36 months) will be Tuesdays from 9:45-10:15 a.m. and 10:30-11 a.m.
—Threes Story Time will be Wednesdays from 10-10:30 a.m.
—Fours and Fives Story Time will be Thursdays from 10-10:30 a.m.
—Drop-in Pajama Story Time will be Mondays, Sept. 18, Oct. 16 and Nov. 20 from 7-7:30 p.m.
PAWS to Read
On Saturdays, Sept. 9 and 23, Oct. 14, and Nov. 18 and 25 from 10 a.m. to noon, children are invited to stop by the children’s department to read to a registered therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.
Library Lego League
On Tuesdays, Sept. 12, Oct. 17 and Nov. 14 from 4:30-5:30 p.m., children age 5-12 can join Library Lego League. Each meeting will have a theme or challenge, and all Lego bricks are provided. Adult caregivers are welcome too. Meetings are in the story time room.
Homemade Gourd Maracas
On Friday, Sept. 15 from 3-5 p.m., use locally grown gourds to make and decorate colorful maracas for Hispanic Heritage Month. Maracas are musical instruments native to many Latin American places like Brazil, Puerto Rico, Cuba, regions of the Caribbean and more. This event is for age 6 and up in the story time room.
Play-Doh Palooza
On Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10-11 a.m., create with Play-Doh and celebrate National Play-Doh Day. Children will share a variety of small tools to explore the many ways this iconic toy can be enjoyed. Registration for age 3-5 is underway. This event is in the story time room.
Touch-a-Truck
On Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids of all ages are invited to explore a variety of big trucks and vehicles at the Touch-a-Truck in the Wooster Library parking lot.
