The Tuscarawas County Public Library system invites library users to help someone in need by participating in Share-A-Christmas events at their library locations.
“We are pleased to be among the many organizations and businesses throughout the county that are offering support for T-4-C Share-A-Christmas,” said Michelle McMorrow Ramsell, director of the Tuscarawas County Public Library System. “Like the past few years, we will offer several Share-A-Christmas opportunities for library customers at our New Philadelphia, Bolivar, Strasburg, Sugarcreek and Tuscarawas locations.”
Nonperishable food items will be collected at each library location until Monday, Dec. 14.
Library users can also warm the hands and feet of area children and teens by participating in the Warm Hands, Warm Feet, Warm Hearts promotion. The library is accepting donations of new socks, mittens, and gloves through Saturday, Dec. 5.
“Our parents really enjoy this campaign,” said Stephanie Baird, children’s services manager. “They see it as an opportunity to teach their children about the spirit of giving.”
The New Philadelphia, Bolivar, Strasburg, Sugarcreek, and Tuscarawas libraries are also drop-off locations for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign and T-4-C Books in Hand campaign. Donations of new, unwrapped toys and new or gently used children’s books may be dropped off at the five library locations during normal library hours through Saturday, Dec. 5.
The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will also have an opportunity for those wishing to give to their library this holiday season. The library is selling tickets for New Towne Mall’s Magical Night of Giving to be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 6-9 p.m. The cost of tickets is $5 and entitles the user to be entered in prize drawings and enjoy special savings at mall stores. Tickets may be purchased at any library location and all of the proceeds from ticket sales will be used for the purchase of library materials.
