Merit Seed has been serving the Holmes County farming community since 1936. For three generations, the Yoder family and their trained staff has been helping farmers yield the most from what they plant. Hybrid seed corn, organic corns and alfalfas are available, as well as forage grasses, clovers, turf seed, wildlife blends and several varieties of sweet corn. Merit Seed is excited to offer vegetable seeds and the complete line of Byron Seed and Master’s Choice corn in 2012. Heirloom vegetables continue to gain popularity in the backyard garden as well as the farmer’s field. “The heirloom varieties are what are selling when vegetables go to market so we are supplying the varieties that are in demand,” said John Yoder, third generation owner at Merit Seed. Merit Seed also offers a division for wildlife blends, complete line of deer plot mixes and salt lick. They have expanded to a lawn and garden retail store offering bird, vegetable and lawn seed, as well as sweet corn and garden tools. Bringing the best genetics and technologies available today to the consumer has allowed Merit Seed to continue to grow and serve the needs of the community. Merit Seed offers a comprehensive catalog with products and useful information for growers. Centrally located in Holmes County at Berlin, Merit Seed celebrates 75 years of service and asks that you grow with them. Merit Seeds 4759 TR 366, Berlin 330-893-3196 www.meritseed.com
