Midvale history program offered in Dover
Shirley Edie Bitticker, Brenda Stafford and Candice Wilson will present a program titled “Reminiscing and Documenting Midvale, Ohio” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Dover Public Library, 525 N. Walnut St.
The presenters will share images and stories about Midvale’s people, events, schools, churches, businesses and industries. They will also discuss their efforts to preserve the village’s history for future generations.
Bitticker frequently speaks to local groups about her childhood in Midvale. She has contributed essays to Tapestries of Tuscarawas County and completed a personal memoir with the help of Storyworth.
Stafford and Wilson have authored three books about Midvale: “Mine-ding Midvale’s History 1889–2003,” “Re Mine-ding Midvale’s History 1889–2004,” and “ReMine-ding Midvale’s Schools.” They are currently working on a fourth volume.
