Millersburg Elementary and HDM ready for a sweet time
Traveling through Historic Downtown Millersburg may have a little different flair the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 27.
Mixed in amid the many vehicles traveling through the bustling downtown area will be hundreds of tiny ghosts, goblins, princesses, football players and animals, all in the form of the Millersburg Elementary school children, who will be enjoying their Fall Harvest Festival Parade trick-or-treat extravaganza.
Each year around Halloween, the local business staffs and other organizations line the sidewalks of Jackson Street, armed with loads of candy treats and other items they pass out to the youngsters as they parade by in their favorite Halloween costumes.
With an estimated 385 kids ready to parade through downtown, they will pay visits to any and all of the businesses that have staff handing out treats along the way.
More importantly, those traveling through Millersburg that day should pay strict attention to the Millersburg police members who will direct traffic along the route and provide safe passage for the children.
It’s a sight to behold, and anyone who would like to stop by and check out this spooktacular spectacle is invited to do so.
Should there be inclement weather, the event will take place in the Millersburg Elementary gymnasium, where the businesses will be invited to share their bevy of treats.
