Nashville church to charter Trail Life Troop 2456
Nashville Church of Christ will charter Trail Life Troop OH-2456 beginning in January. Trail Life USA is a nationwide Christian adventure, character and leadership program for boys in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program is aimed at providing outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills while allowing him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers.
The board consist of Justin Angle, who will serve as troop master; Brad Dodson, troop chaplain; Nic Fiorito, board chair; and Carol Currence, treasurer.
Trail Life differs from other outdoor adventure programs in its desire to point boys toward a biblical lifestyle.
Dodson said, “Our goal is to raise godly men, husbands, fathers, employees and friends who care more about who they are and what they are committed to [than] the size of their homes or the number on their paychecks.”
Activities will include camping, fishing, survivor-skill development, recreational activities and more.
Trail Life Troop OH-2456 will hold two consecutive open houses/parent meetings on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 6-7 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. in the lower fellowship hall at Nashville Church of Christ. Troop meetings will be held each Tuesday at the same time and in the same location as the open houses/parent meetings, starting in January.
“We are parent-run, and we welcome moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas to be part of this opportunity,” said Angle, a West Holmes graduate and former Marine. “We need adults who can help these young men grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.”
