OneEighty receives program funding to fight addiction
OneEighty, a crisis, trauma, and addiction recovery and support agency, has received $95,000 in grant funding from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to support its efforts in helping fight addiction by delivering Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne/Holmes Counties program, OneEighty Executive Director Bobbi Douglas announced recently.
The grant will fund individual, group and family counseling for individuals struggling because of alcoholism or drug use, Douglas said.
The grant is part of an inaugural round of approximately $51 million in funding made available by the foundation as part of its mission to combat the opioid epidemic by supporting prevention, treatment and recovery programs and services.
The money was funded by 55% of settlement funds Ohio is receiving from the pharmaceutical industry as a consequence of its role in the national opioid epidemic.
The grant received by OneEighty reflects the foundation’s commitment to supporting organizations on the front lines of the addiction epidemic by advancing efforts that foster more resilient, healthier communities across Ohio.
“We are pleased to receive these funds from the OneOhio Foundation to support the development of a more comprehensive approach to prevention in our community,” Douglas said. “We are blessed with a strong safety net in Wayne County, and it is time to look upstream to see what we can do collaboratively to prevent opiate and other drug disorders among youth and adults. OneEighty will be working with the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne/Holmes Counties to develop a strong and effective approach.”
According to Alisha Nelson, executive director of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, all across Ohio organizations like OneEighty are working to strengthen communities the opioid epidemic has impacted.
“We’re pleased to partner with OneEighty to support their efforts to save lives, rebuild families affected by addiction, and foster strong and resilient places to live,” Nelson said.
Grant recipients have demonstrated a commitment to addressing the opioid crisis. The funded initiatives are evidenced-based and align with Ohio’s approved abatement strategies including prevention, recovery supports, services for impacted families and children and more.
OneEighty’s substance-use and counseling program treatment services include the following:
—Crisis intervention.
—Couples and family therapy.
—Case management.
—Intensive outpatient services.
—Drug court programs.
—Partial hospitalization.
—Peer support.
