Orrville Area United Way opens new office
Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a Chamber Coffee Connection on Oct. 13 to celebrate the Orrville Area United Way’s new space, 135 N. Main St., Orrville. The event included a ribbon cutting, networking and an opportunity to tour the new office space.
OAUW’s Move to Main has been a step toward engaging more purposefully with the community. The OAUW relocated from East Market Street in Orrville.
“We completed a strategic plan in March, and a huge part of the conversation during those meetings was the importance of engaging with our community,” said Dawn Cazzolli, OAUW executive director. “Our goal is that this location be a community hub where people come for resources and support.”
“The Orrville Area United Way’s move to Main Street is very exciting,” said Phil McFarren, OAUW board president. “Our little United Way has touched many lives over its 60-year history. Having a greater presence on Main Street will hopefully help us to continue this work and even increase our opportunity to do so.”
This location will allow the public better access to assistance, space for partner agencies for meetings and trainings, and will position the OAUW to make a greater impact in the Orrville, Dalton and Marshallville communities.
OAUW would like to build on current relationships and create new ones with all constituents — donors, community members, volunteers and agency partners — to analyze community needs and work with agency partners to meet those needs.
The visibility on North Main has already generated much more interest in OAUW.
The OAUW was founded in 1958. For over 60 years the organization has raised and distributed $16,695,348 to Eastern Wayne County.
