Orrville YMCA celebrates finish of pool renovations
The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce helped celebrate the reopening of the Orrville YMCA pool following a series of renovations this fall. A ribbon cutting was held Oct. 3.
The main pool pump was serviced, sand filter medium replaced, main pool painted, chemical controller replaced, floor repaired, dehumidifier exhaust fan replaced, filters replaced in both pools, locker room showers power washed, and the pump room and surge tank also received thorough cleanings.
Pool renovation work was provided by Martin Painting & Coating, JACCO, OP Aquatics, Rock Solid Flooring, Hawkins Inc. and Hackworth Electric Motors.
“We would like to thank our donors who supported the renovation project,” said Lindsey Baumgartner, Orrville YMCA branch director. “Without their support these renovations would not have been possible.”
Orrville Trucking and Grading, Justin Haislip State Farm, American Legion Post 282, Wayne Insurance, Orrville Exchange Club, Bob and Juanita Witmer, Harry Hoitink, Virgene Steffen, Doug and Beverly Aichholz, Sue Gochnauer, Faye and Marty Breneman, Chip and Cindy Pavis, and Alan and Sharon Fritts all made monetary contributions to this project.
Pool hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. It is important to note pool swim hours vary each day based on swim lessons, class times and swim team practices. Aquatic exercise classes, swim lessons and swim team are all offered at the Orrville YMCA.
The Orrville YMCA also is the home pool for Orrville, Smithville, Waynedale, Dalton, Chippewa, Central Christian and homeschooler swimmers.
