Pancakes with Parents serves 300
On Thursday, Jan. 25, Buckeye Career Center hosted its second annual Pancakes with Parents event, which encourages parents to have breakfast with their student(s) and tour the labs as the school day gets underway.
Three-hundred parents and students were present. Families were greeted at the door by BCC student ambassadors, given a BCC coffee mug and served breakfast by administration and staff.
Principal Matt Fockler greeted the families and thanked them for attending. He said, “It was extremely nice to see high school students have breakfast at school with their parents. The bells were ringing, we did announcements, they saw labs and kids were in the hallways. It’s a different feel than it is for an orientation, so they get that actual school day experience.”
Students and their parents also had the chance to get their photos taken and will receive a photo keepsake from the event.
