Trinity Hospital Twin City is a locally-operated, not-for-profit, Catholic health care provider offering inpatient and outpatient services including imaging lab, cardiopulmonary, surgery, 24-hour emergency department, sleep lab, physical therapy, swing bed skilled rehabilitation, Fit for Life wellness program, specialty physician services and more. A part of the Sylvania Franciscan Health system the health and human services ministry of The Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania Ohio Trinity Hospital Twin City employs more than 220 people. In 2011, Trinity Hospital Twin City recruited three new physicians and three new nurse practitioners to its hospital-owned Trinity Medical Group. The new physicians include Dr. Mohammad Jan, a board certified cardiologist; Dr. Alicia Welch Mills, a board certified pediatrician; and Dr. Walter Randolph, a board certified gynecologist. With funding support from local foundations and the Trinity Hospital Twin City United Volunteer Auxiliary, the hospital has invested more than $633,000 in new equipment and improvements, including building renovations, nuclear camera, C-Arm machine, sleep lab equipment, computer software and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation equipment. In 2012, Trinity Hospital Twin City will continue its steady growth to meet the growing health care needs of the community. That growth includes purchasing a new digital mammography machine, recruiting additional physicians and adding services to allow residents to stay in the community for their health care. As a Catholic hospital, a new leadership position has been added. Sister Dorothy Krupp of The Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania Ohio recently joined Trinity Hospital Twin City to become the director of mission integration/spiritual care. In her new role at the hospital, Sister Krupp will lead the hospital’s mission integration team in fulfilling Sylvania Franciscan Health’s core values of reverence, service and stewardship as the values apply to personal attitudes and actions, to relationships and coworkers, and to the services rendered to patients and others. “Christian values have always been reflected in the services we provide here, so the transition to become a Catholic hospital was an easy one,” said Tiffany Poland, director of marketing and community outreach at Trinity Hospital Twin City. “Now Christian values are at the forefront of everything we do, from offering prayer at the beginning of each hospital meeting and event to placing crosses in each of the patient rooms. We strive to provide health care service to all with sensitivity, compassion and commitment.
