Smithville Spring Hymn Sing April 18
The Smithville Community Historical Society will present its annual Spring Hymn Sing on Sunday, April 18 from 2:30-4 p.m. at the Church of God on North Milton Street in Smithville.
As part of the anniversary at Ohio’s oldest Church of God five years ago, Norma Trotter and Heather Carr presented music for an old-time hymn sing, using hymnals that were with the church when it became property of the SCHS. At this year’s event, Trotter will play the old pump organ from the museum’s collection, and Carr will play an upright piano with Scott Fetter as song leader. Attendees can make selections from the hymnal, and the trio will lead the group through the songs.
Seating is limited to first come, first served, and masks and social distancing are required. The other buildings in the SCHS Pioneer Village will not be open that day.
