SWEET

Do you have a passion for chocolate? A sweet tooth that needs compensation? Then Holmes County Friends & Neighbors of Every Woman’s House has an evening designed with you in mind. It’s the second annual Sweet Moments at Coblentz Chocolates. The Feb. 2 event is a fundraiser that puts patrons in the heart of chocolate central at Coblentz Chocolates, where people can make their own chocolates, taste-test dozens of samples and explore the factory. With a guest list limited to only 60 people, those with a hankering for all things chocolate may want to call in and reserve their tickets as soon as possible. “We had a blast last year, and this year should be just as entertaining and tasty,” said Tina Zickefoose, Friends & Neighbors vice-president. “We were tickled with how much fun this event was last year, and we are excited to be bringing a second year of chocolate fun for everyone.” Patrons for the event will be brought into the inner sanctum of Coblentz Chocolates, where the confectionery is created. There, they will don hair nets, wash their hands and head to the candy-making machines, where they will create a variety of different candies at different stations throughout the facility. From milk chocolate bars to candy-kabobs, making your candy has never been so tantalizingly fun. While their treats dry on the air rack, patrons may venture out into the store to set their sights on filling their tummies with dozens of different chocolate candies, and may even purchase some to take home with them, along with the candy they have created. Zickefoose said that the evening is a perfect opportunity to stock up on stocking stuffers, birthday gifts, or to simply brighten up a gloomy day with a bite of chocolate. “It’s a chocolate lover’s dream come true,” said Zickefoose. “One lady brought 15 of her family members with her last year, and they couldn’t stop talking about how much fun this was.” At $10 per ticket, the chances to attend this unique fundraiser for Friends & Neighbors will be gobbled up quickly. There are two different time slots to attend, at either 6 or 7 p.m. Zickefoose said that what truly makes this event a joy is that, while not initially designed to be such, it makes for perfect family fare, especially for the kids. “We never intended it to be for kids, but it certainly turned out that way,” said Zickefoose. “It really is a family affair. What’s best is that all of the proceeds will go to Every Woman’s House, so not only do people get their fill of some wonderful chocolate goodies, they will be contributing to a fantastic organization.” Holmes County Friends & Neighbors of Every Woman’s House provides additional support and fundraising for Every Woman’s House, a private, nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing crisis intervention, treatment, counseling, prevention and support for those affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Tickets may be ordered by calling Zickefoose at 330-674-1930, but do so quickly, before this opportunity to dine on delectible treats melts away.
