The Vinery celebrating 25th anniversary on Dec. 7-8
For Dana Arnold, pouring into her creative passions while giving back to her community means everything.
For the past 25 years, the florist has owned and operated her flower shop The Vinery in Holmes County. As a thank you to her loyal customer base, the flower shop will have a customer appreciation and Christmas open house Dec. 7-8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Holmes County is a very special place to me,” Arnold said. “My customers, vendors, community partners and friends have all made the last 25 years so special and enjoyable.”
The open house will display a fresh-cut pine and flower bar to make one’s own arrangements. Participants can sign up for door prizes and special giveaways including a $75 centerpiece and other flower arrangements. No purchase is necessary to enter.
“I wanted to make it extra special this year because I appreciate my customers so much,” Arnold said.
The Vinery offers fresh flowers, silks, wreaths, seasonal décor, giftware, candles and local handmade items. The shop sells fresh bulk flowers and flower arrangements and provides deliveries in Holmes County.
Arnold, who has a background in retail, has always loved creative endeavors. When she noticed the former barber shop sitting vacant in downtown Killbuck, she fell in love with the idea of turning it into a flower shop.
With the help of family and friends, the dream became a reality, opening in October 1998. The shop’s name comes from the overgrown vines adding to the building’s personality.
After 18 years and an expansion, the shop relocated inside Trail Side Deli in Millersburg.
“(Trail Side Deli) is a really nice store — great customer service, good people,” Arnold said. “I’m just so blessed to be where I’m at here in my little corner in their store.”
Arnold purposely keeps her shop small so she can have more time for customers and hands-on work. Throughout the years she’s given classes and now spends time with her granddaughters, teaching them her trade.
Arnold said serving the Holmes County community in Killbuck and now Millersburg has been a joy. She enjoys getting to know her customers and is honored to have been a part of all their milestones. She couldn’t imagine having a business anywhere else, she said.
“Thank you, Holmes County,” Arnold said. “I’m truly blessed to live in this community.”
Her favorite part of her business is the people.
“One of the best things about my job is thinking back to all the happy moments I’ve been able to be a part of,” Arnold said. “I’m honored that so many people trust me to be a part of their lives and celebrations.”
