The Mineral City Volunteer Fire Department Inc. will host a public bus trip to New York City Feb. 8-10, 2025. Initial deposits are due by Dec. 13. The trip will depart the Mineral City Fire Station early on Saturday, Feb. 8, returning late Monday evening, Feb. 10.

The department has partnered with Traveling Classrooms of Canton to provide tour management services for the trip. The trip is limited to adults age 18 and up. Included in the cost of the trip is round-trip motorcoach transportation using Baron's Bus Company, two nights at the Hilton Meadowlands in New Jersey, dinner at Puglia NYC Italian Restaurant in the heart of Manhattan's Little Italy and three other meals.

The trip cost includes admission to the 9/11 Museum at Ground Zero, entry to One World Observatory, the observation level of the new World Trade Center Tower, a ferry ride and admission to the base of the Statue of Liberty, and a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park. Traveling Classrooms also will provide a tour manager on the trip to answer questions and guide activities.

There also will be an evening of Choose Your Own Adventure, where the bus will drop everyone off in Times Square for the evening to choose their own fun, whether that be a Broadway show, shopping, exploring the many eateries, or just wandering and enjoying the bright lights. Times Square activities and meals are at your own cost.

Visit the Mineral City Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook. Deposits of $200 per person are due by Dec. 13, and spaces are filled on a first-paid basis. All payments are handled by the tour company, and the fire department cannot accept payments. Options for online pay or pay by mail are listed on the event's Facebook page. Online purchases can be made at www.wetravel.com/trips/mineral-city-vfd-nyc-trip-traveling-classrooms-10184928.
