Walnut Creek Foods launches Mudd Valley beverage line
There’s a new beverage on the market, and not only does it come from a local company, but also it comes with a message of supporting the Amish and Anabaptist faith.
Walnut Creek Foods recently announced the launch of its new beverage line under the Mudd Valley brand. This marks the company’s first expansion into the bottled beverage category.
“We are ecstatic with the launch of our Mudd Valley glass-bottled teas, lemonades and punches,” said Matt Keeler, vice president of sales and marketing at Walnut Creek Foods. “Not only do we believe in the quality of the product, but the story we’re telling with the Mudd Valley brand.”
In describing the brand, Keeler said, “With the tagline of ‘Celebrate Life’s Moments,’ the line of beverages is focused on drinks that celebrate the heritage of the communities we serve and the generations of families that have called those communities home.”
The official brand story for Mudd Valley reads:
“Nestled in the heart of Holmes County, Mudd Valley is more than a name; it’s a nod to history. Settled in 1809, Mudd Valley is known for its strong sense of community where families gather and stories are shared.
“In a world that often feels fast-paced, Mudd Valley beverages stand as a reminder of the beauty found in simplicity and the joy of relationships. So whether it’s a refreshing ice tea on a front porch or a sweet lemonade at a family gathering, Mudd Valley invites you to celebrate life’s moments — one cheerful sip at a time.
“At Mudd Valley we also believe in giving. For every bottle sold, a portion is donated to support the preservation and education of Anabaptist history and culture.”
“Our customers have embraced this new line of beverages, and we’re excited to tell the story behind them,” Keeler said. “The giving component adds a meaningful element, with a portion of sales going to support the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center in Berlin, Ohio, home to the ‘Behalt’ exhibit.”
With over 20 different flavors and varieties including four zero-sugar options, there is a flavor for everyone. Sweetened drinks utilize 100% cane sugar for the sweetening, and only natural flavors and natural colors are added.
“Not only did we want to offer a wide range of flavors at the time of rollout, but we wanted to commit to using the best ingredients available,” Keeler said.
Mudd Valley beverages can now be found at many local stores including Walnut Creek Cheese & Market in Holmes County and can be ordered by any store that has a wholesale account with Walnut Creek Foods.
